Well that tactic is kinda useless. Star craft is just select 12 units. Attack. Select 12 units attack etc etc etc. While TA has much bigger variarity in units and maps. In TA you can focus on air/sea/land. Weapon shots follow physics and dont just have a 60% change to hit. The moddability of TA is huge. You can change everything.
Also civ2 isnt a rts. |

RE: An interesting blog to make the point about engines....
its a strat, just not real time, i bundle most if not all strategy games together
*Edit* i mean they share a lot of simliarities between them, they are both war games, just one is turn based with a lot more options for victory. Also just to note i\'ve never played two games of starcraft the same, sure the engine doesnt leave a lot of options for moding nor does the game have the same depth as a TA battle, but it makes up in sheer adrenalin, i always found TA games slow and boring, were as with starcraft i never found time to even consider the game because i was too emerced in trying to get my troops through battle and yes reno, gameplay > shineyness |

del, you suck because you dont have to deal with rendering
i do anyways, moving on... most strategy games are rather good,(especially in this conversation) because its always gameplay > graphics. i dont see C&C busting out with shaders coming out of their ears, or any other RTS, but that doesnt make them any less of a blast to play. this would also hint why we all still play the original TTR |

Don\'t ask me how that feels, okay I was sort of addicted to Red Alert Skirmishes... Man, all those hours I spent building huge armies in Skirmish, only to give up and retry when I started to get slaughtered by my opponents... Ah the good old days |
