for the other stuff that i was too lazy to post, his .plan: http://www.garagegames.com/blogs/32699/7805

the point to be made the the lot of this, is that shaders are spiffy and look nice, but no matter how many shaders you have, it doesnt help 2 things: Gameplay, and general detail to a scene. a game is only as good as the art and code that goes in to it, and big game companies are seeming to forget this(makes me glad that we\'re indies Big Grin )

anyways [/rant ....again]

As I work in 3D, for purty artwork, 3 things count, Model complexity, Quality of Textures and Lighting.. all 3 are major contributors

With out a doubt about that. But for games those factors are secondary to gameplay. Well, unless you are studio, then they are your major selling point.

Hell yeah, I\'d rather play Bomberman in 2D for gameplay than a fantastic looking 3D game that plays like cack

Star craft is a example of a game which just sucks. Civ 2 and TA all the way!

thats blasmphy, starcraft is by far the best real time strategy ever made, closely followed by civ2 and the C&C series, but i dont rate TA at all, it was so easy just to cripple the game by running along with your commander D-Gunning theres and them both dieing, and thus you are stuck in the endless cycle of nothing
