That\'s because a majority of people are just plain old stupid, Christians or otherwise honestly :B
(And yes, I am in fact Christian, I\'m just stating some facts here )
The thing about the upside-down cross is basically someone wanting to be a rebel, and coming up with some lame, non researched way of doing it. That\'s it really. You either know what i really means or you don\'t and it doesnt affect anyone of significance anyways, so for the most part I don\'t even figure it\'s worth debating over most of the time

I got an ankh-necklace for my bdaythis year, planning on getting a ankh-tattoo somehwere next year. I think I want it in my neck.. but not that sure yet..
