So far, so good. But because of the size of the map the skybox is going to look like crap unless there is a way to cheat the game and make it think that it\'s a lot smaller than what it really is.

Can this be done? I\'ve checked beyondunreal wiki and well, it\'s a bit... incomplete.

And also, how do I import my own decorations into the game without compiling them into a pack (embedding them into the map)? or... does anyone remember what was needed to compile this? All I can remember is that I had to put some folders (model, texture, sound -if needed) and run a weirdo command that I forgot, which was something like UCC -makeall or somthing like that, but previously I had to write my own class script. It\'s been a while so... memory is failing me here.

Aaaaand also, how do I add a collision cilinder to these thingies without needing to go through each one in Ued manually? (I\'ve noticed that half the trees don\'t have these :redface: )

kthx

Oh I forgot, anyone using a crap-like computer? ie: 1200mhz (intel P4 equivalent) or below. I\'m asking because well, mebbe you won\'t be able to run the map. HA-HA.

When it works, it\'s great. But it only works for roughly 1 minute. After that it just stops working. It doesn\'t send back any information.
Is this a problem with me? Or is it a problem with them?

Thanks goes out to Dijon and Turbs for this information!

I knew I had it somewhere!

Anyway, this will show you what you should alter to make TTR run a bit better on your Mac. Pretty much for OS 9, as there is a very nice installer for OS X.

Dijon Wrote:Posted: Sat Aug 30, 2003 1:36 pm

Manual Installation:
1. Download the update from 1.1 to 1.2

2. Expand the .zip file.

3. From the folder "TheThirdReich" , drag the contents of the Maps, Music, Sounds, and Textures folders into their respective folders in the TTRFiles folder. Replace whatever needs to be replaced.

4. From the "System" folder, place Startup-UT.int, Startup.int, and TTR.int
into your Unreal Tournament System folder. Place the rest of the files into your TTRFiles -> System folder.

Making TTR run properly:
Open up TTR.ini in your UT folder, scroll down, make your Paths look like this.

[Core.System]
PurgeCacheDays=30
SavePath=:Save
CachePath=:Cache
CacheExt=.uxx
Paths=:TTRFiles:System:*.u
Paths=:TTRFiles:Maps:*.unr
Paths=:TTRFiles:Textures:*.utx
Paths=:TTRFiles:Sounds:*.uax
Paths=:TTRFiles:Music:*.umx
Paths=:System:*.u
Paths=:Maps:*.unr
Paths=:Textures:*.utx
Paths=:Sounds:*.uax
Paths=:Music:*.umx

Graphics Problems:
Some new textures included in 1.2 (Scope, Victory screens) are not supported by RAVE. You will need to use a different rendering device, OpenGL for example. Manually change the rendering device to OpenGL:

1. Open up your TTR.ini

2. Where it says "GameRenderDevice=xxxxxx", put "GameRenderDevice=OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice" in it\'s place.

3. Scroll down to "[OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice]".

Paste this in it\'s place:

[OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice]
Translucency=True
VolumetricLighting=True
ShinySurfaces=True
Coronas=True
HighDetailActors=True
MinLogTextureSize=0
MaxLogTextureSize=10
MaxLogUOverV=10
MaxLogVOverU=10
UseMultiTexture=1
Texture32Bit=0
DoPrecache=0
DescFlags=0
Description=

4. Now get rid of "OpenGLDriver.ini" in both your UT System folder, as well as in your TTR System folder.

Problems with Keybinds:
1. Open up your TTRUser.ini

2. Just place the following with your other aliases.

Can\'t Reload:
Aliases[26]=(Command="TTR_Reload | button bReload",Alias=TTR_ReloadKeybind)*

Can\'t Toggle Crouch:
Aliases[27](Command="TTR_ToggleCrouch | toggle bDuck",Alias=TTR_ToggleCrouchKeybind)

If the above Alias doesn?t work try the one below:

Aliases[27](Command="TTR_ToggleCrouchKeybind | toggle bDuck",Alias=TTR_ToggleCrouchKeybind)*

That should be it, Enjoy!

I only just installed the standalone version and ran it to be sure: everything works, except... I can\'t go play online The game shuts itself down when I click for online games... Anyone know what to do? Much appreciated, I wouldn\'t want to miss the big game on Sunday

Well the title isn\'t exactly what i meant, but here\'s the bother:

I launch TTR, go to \"find games\". There it opens the news page which (you guessed it) is hosted on thethirdreich.com. It tries to open the nice 404 page and crashes!!! :eek:

I don\'t know who\'s in charge of that page, but it better come back some time soon or we\'ll all be crashing out before we can join anything.

If you got TTR, please try and reproduce this.
I\'m sure it\'ll crash your UT so you HAVE been warned!
