Need help with Dreamweaver

Hi again guys! I used to be able to write some pretty good html code by hand. But 10 years later, I have no idea what I\'m doing anymore.

This year at school I\'m doing a near doctorate study of the construction management process of a building in New Jersey. One of the things I must do is to maintain a pretty good looking website documenting the process and reports of mine.

So I\'m working on cranking out a pretty good template to start from.

The paragraphs on the main page came with the basic template.

Does anyone have any advice so far? Or possibly some tricks to employ?

Anyone who does help will get credits and thanks during my final presentation.

forum question

hey

I have some questions about a forum like this one.
I need a forum for my mod \"all out fairy tale\" which is going to come out of it\'s slumber quite soon but I don\'t know what to take.

I don\'t want to pay so I considered MyBBoard (like this one) or PHPBBoard (like my previous).
The quarrel i have with phpbb is that it\'s easily hackable and I had a nasty invasion of russian spam whatevers on my previous forum.
mybboard looks good but all the modification sites i seem to find are down

My question now is which one to take and which kind of mods are crucial for a forum and most of all which mods are good... I need some mods already: calender, rules, ... any nifty features are welcome.

Id appreciate it if you could help with your insight and tips about this. ASAP

Heya, Im still working on this site for a school project, and I have this id?a but can\'t seem to fix the right code =/

I\'ve used a javascript for making a popup window, but u can still resize it... I would like ; When you click on this link a new window open lets say about 640*480 and which u can\'t resize.

Anyone knows? =/

Opera CTO to Microsoft: Take the Acid2 challenge

Hakon Wium Lie, CTO of Opera Software, has written a piece for C|net about the lack of interoperability of Microsoft\'s Internet Explorer (IE) and how IE 7 will deal with this issue.

Lie proposed an acid test to ensure that IE 7 does not become another failed promise, the Web community will issue a challenge to Microsoft. \"We will produce a test page, code-named Acid2, that will actively use features Web designers crave, such as fixed positioning of elements.\"

\"Microsoft now has the chance to redeem itself with regard to Web interoperability. All it needs to do is make sure IE 7 passes the Acid2 test before shipping\", wrote Lie.

The Acid2 test will be sponsored by the Web Standards Project, which is a grassroots coalition fighting for Web standards. Its integrity is unchallenged in the Web community, and its presence will ensure that Acid2 will be fair for all. It might even smoke out some bugs in other browsers.

As the test name implies, this will be the second acid test put forward for Web browsers. The original acid test, created by Todd Fahrner in 1997, was instrumental in ensuring interoperability between browsers in their CSS1 implementations. The existence of the acid test forced browser vendors to fix their implementations or face embarrassment; the test was created so that testers could easily see which browsers failed the test.

Even Microsoft made sure IE 6 passed the acid test. As a result of the acid test, CSS became usable and has changed the way Web sites are authored.

Hi, im doing this little school project, were I make an internet company.
And I have this nice idea for the design, but there is one problem...

Im writing layers to build the site up, and I want them to have borders around them, but I can\'t seem to code it right =/

Anyone know how to make a border on a layer?

Anyone of you know something about XML? Maybe even a lot?

I\'m currently working with creating a homepage based on XML and I keep running into small problems - something I see as the whole point of it - and I\'m looking for answers, tips and hints.

At the moment I\'m working on creating a news system based on an XSL style sheet that will display titles/headlines from files in a numbered sequence (F00001.xml -> Fxxxxx.xml). This will ensure a news system that is easily updated by simply uploading a singe file to the server and the XSL style sheet will take care of the rest.

I\'m also working on upgrading my photo gallery to be somewhat similar in function. Basically divide the pictures into galleries and let a XSL sort it out.

The whole consept is based on \"as simple as possible\", no .net functions, no java, no nothing except XML and XSL.

My current \"problem\" to solve is how to select language. I have both norwegian and english titles, descriptions etc in a single file, but I can\'t figure out how to pass that information along to the XSL for processing.

Anyways, just thought I see if anyone here might know a little something

ok, so those who know me and websites know that once i get going i wont leave one alone, so the UFF website is now in its 3rd or 4th version, and ive given it a complete re-write and overhaul with comments system, blogs and mostly a load of useless admin stuff that only i see.. but i need ideas to keep people coming to the site, so have a browse through, sign up if you want (you have to sign up seperatly for forums simply because phpbb logins annoy me and i dont want it near my site) do whatever..

Multiple image uploads

I recently started learning PHP, so I\'m what you could call a big n00b at it still. Nonetheless , I\'m trying to create something...

What I want to achieve:
I want to have a script with 4 upload fields & 1 submit button to simultaniously upload 4 images to a folder somewhere on the server. - Done, no problem

But I also need the filename of each image to be stored in the database in a different row, under the same ID - Not done, and my big problem

(see image below for some more clarification)

Some extra info:
Let\'s assume our files are image1.jpg, image2.jpg, image3.jpg & image4.jpg

The script uploads the files and inserts their filename in the database, but it inserts:

- image1.jpg under row image0 in id 4
- image2.jpg under row image1 in id 5
- image3.jpg under row image2 in id 6
- image4.jpg under row image3 in id 7

(see image below for some more clarification)

This is what I have for my database, I fear the problem may lie here?
