sorta, you didnt choose to start there. you only chose to stay there.

Abe Lincoln spent more than half of his life failing(his bro was a drunk and a gambler, he failed at a lot of businesses, his wife died, he suffered a nervous breakdown, his son was killed, he was a poor attourney, etc.) before he landed in the oval office.

the only thing that happens to you is your birth/childhood. just about everything else after that is all on you.
