Apple to use x86 Intel processors

It seems that Apple is switching from IBM to Intel, and furthermore it\'s going to use x86 processors, wich are also used in PCs. Quite a big step imo, and not necessary a bad one at that, as it gives us poor Windows users a possibility to (perhaps) use Mac OS on our PCs . |

RE: Apple to use x86 Intel processors
More like using Windows on your Mac, than using OS X on your PC.
Apple is all about the proprietary ASICs! SC |

Yes personally i still believe in the risc architechture, apparently apple dont
a couple of points are that you wont be able to buy any old intel box and installed OS X on it (the mac hardware is still worth too much money for them to let people do this) but we all know some clever hacker somewhere will change that. Without a commerical release i doubt it will be a popular thing. They said they wont support windows on the mac but its perfectly possible...why i\'m not entirely sure (of course the thought of dual booting into XP to play games is an interesting one) its an interesting development, not nesscarily a bad one, but still i have my reservations, for one i hope they refused to stick those bloody intel stickers on the side of there boxes saying what processor is inside it oh well once they start churning out mactel\'s i guess we will see what this really means for me the mac user |
