Holographic Rival to Blu-ray, HD-DVD
Quote:Information storage media company Maxell has said it will launch its first holographic storage products in September 2006. The first removable drive will have a capacity of 300GB and a throughput of 160mbps.http://news.com.com/Maxell+focuses+on+ho...73868.html When you thought you\'ve seen everything in this stupid DVD next-gen fight... here comes the HoloDVD (somewhat). Anyway I must admit those storage numbers look pretty sexy. |

It\'ll be great for hard drive backup, especially laptops.
Make sure you check out the news story link on the bottom of the page: \"Banking on a virtual economy: Online gamer Jon Jacobs recently spent $100,000 in real-world money to buy a virtual space station. Is he nuts?\" My vote is yes. |
