I believe they did, it was a very famous \'oops\' if I recall correctly

Man, watch the head on collission between the f-18 and f-15. it\'s filmed from the f-18 cockpit with sound..

Yes they did Al, both ejected safely.... although one aircraft almost took out a campsite upon coming back to earth (where I happened to be standing at the time!)

Out of those 9 individual aircraft... one was fatal... xmas 2001.. a gulfstream private jet was taking off from Birmingham but had Ice on the wing... stalled as it lifted off and gamboled down the runway killing all inside.
