Har har, yer speaking with both heads there, Del. But to refine my point: Allthough the portrayal of women (especially) in TV and advertising is generally less gratious and sexually provocative than before, this is a gender/equality issue, and has nothing to do with the (almost all-american) hypocrisy of being outraged and terrified of anything graphicly sexual, while violence is a-ok.
Picture the Janet Jackson/Justin Timerlake SuperBowl scandal (a tit was very briefly shown). Heads rolled after that, advertisers trembled with fear. TV-companies were heavily fined. New legislation was introduced. Would it have made anything but the entertainment headlines if it happened over here? BTW: In Norway last year a couple actually fucked on stage (se pic under) at Norways biggest outdoor rock festival. Not very suprisingly that did make the headlines. God what ugly crusties they were.... *Woah there! There are children who browse these forums. -Pun.* |
