New map idea, anyone interested
If anyone is interested in an attempt for an alternative gameplay style, read further. For anyone that wants a new map, I\'ll see what the interest is...

OK imagine playing a Merderet like map, about the same size or larger but with allies in attack role. Add to that the enigma machine and docs that have to be carried from one end of the map to the other end, while at the same time areas have to be secured.

Map so far:
- No layout yet
- Urban setting
- MG42 positions will cover main route extensively
- Parralel paths for main and alternate routes, with lots of opportunities to change route
- Later stage of war, so lots of ruins, tank wrecks and so on

so the idea is \"as easy as\" sneeking the docs and inigma past the axis lines?

Push gameplay like Merderet, but you\'ll have to take the enigma and/or docs with you.

Main map idea:
1: Advance through city to place where enigma/docs are held (large building).
2: Get objectives.
3: Continue to advance through the city with the objective instead of returning it to the initial spawn position.

So you have a push attack from point A to point B, but somewhere between point A and B you get the enigma/docs as an extra. All objectives are needed for completion of the map.

Great idea! Big Grin Someone should get to it ASAP!

Maybe it\'s possible to alter maps to do that? Like an alternate game mode?

Im for a open battleground map. Perhaps with a few bushes and such but it would allow long ranged fighting. Perhaps some pillboxes with mg42\'s which need to be captured by the allies and a pillbox with the mg1919 or captured mg42\'s to capture by the axis.

Sounds interesting, but here is some valuable advice on making your first map.

-Don\'t make the same mistake I did, keep it simple to make it easier on yourself by making a smaller map. This will give you less problems because you won\'t need to spend a lot of time fixing bugs.

-If you\'re going to go ahead and make a big map anyway, make sure you dedicate yourself into making it, because the process is long and tiresome (at least it is for me).

-Sketch out a rough drawing of what your map will look like. This will help you stay on task with your map and not just working on random things.

Have fun mapping! Smile

I\'m thinking: won\'t it be a waste to make this map? :\\ TTR:T might not allow such gameplay, and \"when it\'s done ™\", TTR as we know it now will most likely lose all its appeal. Just something to think about, I guess...
