The Pope Was Right!!! - Sgt. Boomer - 05-27-2005 10:38 PM Saw this on the front page of the morning paper: Sex drive loss from pill could be permanent. The birth control pill, often credited with allowing women to participate in the sexual revolution, can blunt a woman\'s sexual desire for life, scientists claim... File that under God gets the last laugh. Boomer - 05-28-2005 04:08 PM Yeah, I didn’t have time this morning to find a link. Here’s the original report from New Scientist: Can taking the pill dull a woman's desire forever? I remember reading something about Oprah doing some shows about the “hidden epidemic” of middle aged women with low libidos. I guess they figured out the problem. Not that it’ll matter too much, because also breaking news from today: FDA Investigates Blindness in Viagra Users. It’s been a bad day for the hippie generation all around. RE: The Pope Was Right!!! - =D.C.L.I=TuRb0jUg3nD - 05-28-2005 06:29 PM I fail to se the humour. Repressed? Bitter? Don\'t worry, Boomer, you\'ll get to f**k eventually! RE: The Pope Was Right!!! - Sgt. Boomer - 05-28-2005 10:34 PM Cute Turbs. You’re a hell of a wit. Mainly I’m just venting- Canada’s gone to the dogs in the last couple of weeks and it’s pretty depressing. Right now a commission is investigating pervasive corruption in the Liberal party that presently forms the government. For a few glorious weeks it looked like we’d be getting a national Conservative government. Then the Liberals axed $4.6 billion in corporate tax cuts and put the money into “social spending” (i.e. taking the money from hard working families and giving it to irresponsible idiots who’ve screwed up their lives), then the Canadian media (or at least the 3/4 of it that’s owned by either the government or Liberal party sycophants) began the whole “Conservative’s are scary” diatribe that they’ve been on the last few years, and suddenly the Liberals bounced back to lead the polls in eastern Canada. But what’s really scary is that the main issue that has been garnering accusations of “extremism” in the media is the Conservative party’s tough stance against child abuse and child pornography. I was pretty moderate until a couple of years ago (I was even a hardcore lefty in University), but when judicial activists in Canada started trying to legalize child porn and soft pedal child abuse- and the Liberal government and left-wing media branded opponents as bigots, I took a hard right turn. The criminal justice system in Canada has turned into a joke- and a bad one at that. Feminists and taxpayer funded abortions are an irritant, and gay marriage is just plain weird – but if the next step of the sexual revolution is to try and make pedophilia legal and socially acceptable, there’s going to be hell to pay. Hence my moment of glee at the first signs of the instigators of the revolution (i.e. the 60’s generation) reaping the whirlwind. The only other thing that’s cheered me up is a sharp spike in support for Western separatism (Western Canada=good, Eastern Canada=irredeemably evil). If that doesn’t pan out I’m seriously thinking of emigrating to the U.S. [/rant] RE: The Pope Was Right!!! - =D.C.L.I=TuRb0jUg3nD - 05-28-2005 11:46 PM Well I\'m glad you got that out of yer system! RE: The Pope Was Right!!! - viper - 05-29-2005 04:47 AM and to bring the comedy back into the thread.... In other news today... Viagra makes you blind. RE: The Pope Was Right!!! - Smithcraft - 05-29-2005 06:33 AM Uh, isn\'t that what Boomer posted up above yesterday? And with a link too! SC RE: The Pope Was Right!!! - Sgt. I think I just need a long holiday, lying on a beach somewhere far away from newspapers and television. I’m starting to understand how those Americans who wanted to move up here in November felt. Maybe the governments can work out a trade – Canadian conservatives can move to the States, and American Democrats can come freeze their a**es off in Soviet Canuckistan. :\\ |
