But you see, Halo had a real story...
IMO there are more than enough games with stories wothy of their own movie, but the problem is that the games that have horrible stories or no story at all, are the most popular games and seem to be the only ones that get their own movie.
(don\'t try to tell me that tomb raider\'s story was anything but an excuse to have the setting and theme they made in the maps...)

Well, IMO it\'s not about picking games with good stories to make movies, but make good stories for good game concepts.
DOOM background story is flexible enough to use it as a blank page from where you can develope you own plot. The only things fans will ask are monsters and blood, and that\'s not complicated to implement. From that point you just need a real writer that wants to tell a story, and not one that goes for the easy thing: let\'s make the movie exactly as the game. With Doom that just means flatline script, silly characters and first person views. So, just a movie for DOOM hardcore fans and the youngest audience that will be forgotten a second before you step out the cinema.
I know this can be controversial, but if all the game movies would be like Resident Evil 1 (not 2, that one is quite DOOM) I\'d be more than glad. At least Anderson tried to create a story there.
